Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear....

by husbandorcat @ 27 Oct. 2006 - 18:26:36

Yes, Ruth, he's trying REALLY hard to show how much he loves you - but - be honest - do you give a ****????

And what are the omens saying????

AAAAARRRGGGHHH!!!!!!!

(Too much like a year ago for comfort.... and I have had 2 (proper, ie lots of gin), martinis!!!)

PS Except, of course, I didn't have the lovely Sam waiting for me....

PPS Although admittedly, I didn't have 3 under 16 brats holding me back...

PPPS And what is this about the special 'top'? Some way of restoring the self esteem of post-mastectomy subjects????

PPPPS Sorry, that was bitchy, but I still have both of mine and I wish I was generating that amount of attention...

PPPPPS Sorry sorry, that really IS the gin talking!!!!

Chance would be a fine thing...

Does anybody still say that??? (apart from me...)

The word *sorry* in blogland is not a word.

The joy is we are what we are, without judgement, comments given in humour.

Have fun.

Took me a while to realise you were talking about The Archers! :))
I've missed most of this week so need to catch up, but last I heard Sam was being very insistent and fine line between potential lover and stalker seemed yet to be decided...

I was pleased they were not as 'slurpy' as Sid and Jolene and suddenly they were!!! at least no shower scene so far! ;)

Slurpiness really doesn't work on radio, gay or straight, now does it?
You imagine them all in the studio snogging the backs of their hands (or worse... no, don't go there!)
Auditory voyeurism (auditeurism?) really doesn't do it for me, since my student days when I used to have to listen to my room mate snogging her boyfriend -yeeuch!! (and I didn't have anybody - sob, sob :( )
Did you hear Friday? If not, you may not have realised the first comment refers to David. Which is why it struck a chord and made me rush up here to respond instantly.

Thanks to 'Listen Again' I'm fully up-to-date!
Yes, David is being very nice and there is all that history and young family...
Sam is completely irrational though and I'm not sure I'd trust him, but he's not a 'fling' candidate is he - it's all or nothing and a bit scary. having caught up my stalker comment seems even more apt.
it's all about weighing up the options I guess.

Re misspent youth - To my horror I dicovered my fiance and I were source of unplanned auditory exhibitionism - hadn't realised thinness of the walls.

With my more recent *ahem* 'coming out'I do worry about thickness of walls. I hope I don't get visit from nice Police Officer or get given leaflet for the Women's Refuge!

I'm with you on Sam -despite my flippant comments elsewhere - definitely scary. All that 'I could make you so happy' crap - actually, come to think of it, his insistence reminds me of my first husband. Just the thought sends cold shivers down my spine...
But I guess on Friday evening - after all that gin - the thought of some younger hunk begging one to run away with him and start a new life did sound rather appealing (especially with memories of last year fresh in my mind).
But I have to say - and I know this sounds pretty ridiculous in relation to the Archers - I do think the scriptwriters have lost touch with reality lately - the only remotely credible storyline is the one about the Christmas show!
On Listen Again - quite the most wonderful innovation in years, IMHO!!!

:)) it comes to something when Lindy's christmas Show is credible!!!
Interesting to get Ruth's perspective on Sam in her confession to Usha. And I loved Lindy and Robert creeping around The Cat and Fiddle - Priceless Lindy storyline!
