... so I didn’t take a brolly, large or small. And I didn’t hang around outside the stage door.
sorry!
And I didn’t buy the top I was looking at in Monsoon. But I bought one in Next, and a couple of others in H&M, and tried on quite a few in M&S. Nice lively spring colours to cheer me up.
There was a band playing in the street outside Marks, they were really good, thought the sound balance was a bit erratic, hardly surprising out in a busy shopping street. The singer, when you could hear him, had a great voice. They were there in the morning and still there around 4 when I got back from the lecture. I didn’t recognise any of the songs, but they had a good, rocky, bluesy sound. They had a full drum kit set up, which was kind of surreal.

It wasn't raining in Cambridge yesterday...

Yes, I saw them too! And they were there last time I was in town. Oh gosh, we're not neighbours, are we?

AND I had my lunch in the theatre cafe. AND I didn't lurk at the stage door either, AND I didn't have a brolly, either. Spooky or what!

Bet you didn't see Neil Pearson either!
though I guess you wouldn't have had the urge to pursue him across the Market Square
Did you actually go to the play (see my post from Friday), or just eat in the theatre cafe? Was it the posh one upstairs? I've only been there once.
sorry for the inquisition - knowing you maybe I shouldn't enquire too closely into your activities!
I grabbed a sausage (if you'll pardon the expression) from the Hot Sausage company kiosk around 1:15 en route from H&M (where I got stuck in an awful queue) to Darwin college for a talk.
I live about 27miles west of Cambridge, and I like going there, but it tends to be for specific events, otherwise I don't make the effort. but I'm always glad if I do. I've been quite a lot recently.
Did you know Trolly lives near Cambridge too? Maybe we should organise a blog meet

I do find Cambridge quite a surreal place, especially if I'm on my own.
I'd like to see the band again. I thought there was real talent there. but I don't get to see much live music, so i tend to get a bit over-excited when i do - though I'll be at the Delirium bar in Brussels on Thursday week listening to the music there

You could actually have been standing next to each other! You and KandAmoist, not Neil Pearson, who you would have recognised.

I think I'd quite like to meet him, but would I be able to look him in the eye? ![]()
actually, that goes for both of them - for different reasons

By strange co-incidence I decided NOT to grab a sausage at about 1.15 ( having bought 3 books to read from Galloway and Porter for under £5), walked past the queue of women all apparently wanting to enjoy a sausage (most of them being oriental* it has to be said) and went instead to the theatre bar.
Gosh ... what a close call we had, eh?
* the women, not the sausages

Actually there are two Hot Sausage vans along that bit of road (an embarrassment of riches!) - one near Galloway and Porter, and one further up near H&M. I was at the latter - and I'm definitely occidental.
I subsequently walked through Lion Yard - chewing on my sausage - and across the Market Square - which is where our paths might have crossed.
But did you actually see the play?
