I just noticed the photo from outside the coffee shop in Paris (bugger, I automatically typed that 'h' on the end again!).
That was a bright and beautiful morning, just like it is today, and even if most of the day was spent in a stuffy seminar room wrestling with transport policy, by the evening I was strolling by the Seine with friends and drinking red wine 
OK, so THAT'S not exactly going to happen today, this evening's plans involve a Parish Councils Liaison meeting 
But it reminds me that next week I'll be in Oxford, then Telford, with other friends and other interests, and after that, an island in the middle of the Danube
As long as there are days like that, I guess life isn't so bad
