Plan B

by husbandorcat @ 04 Oct. 2008 - 10:12:07

Got a letter in the post telling me I didn't get the job.
So, now it's time for Plan B.
If only I knew what that was... :(

Oh dear, I'm sorry to hear this.

Now then... Plan B. Come on, get your thinking cap on. ;)

Options thought of so far:
1 Keep looking out for another perfect job
2 Look for any old crappy job that I'll probably hate
3 Try to build up my 'business' to the point where I make enough from that to support myself.
4 Finish novel, get it published, it becomes a bestseller, I move into the JK Rowling income bracket...

I like option 4 personally...

Me too!!

Option 2 should be avoided at all costs!

You think???
Me too
Status quo is probably better than that. :(

I spent the last five years working somewhere I didn't want to be... it can be soul destroying in the extreme.

Good for you getting out while you've still got your faculties! ;)
I think I'm looking at a combination of 1 and 3

Faculties? Blooming heck! :))

Rash assumption there on my part!!! ;)
Funnily enough, it's just 5 years since I walked away from my last full time employment...
and I don't regret it... not really.
Just, circumstances change :(

Too damn right... it was being side-stepped from Faculties that caused me so much distress!

On a more serious note, I hope something works for you... get writting woman!

Ooops, sorry, unfortunate choice of phrase, obviously!
As for writting...

:)) No worries! :D

Come on... it's just one word after another... and if I can write a book, anyone can!

You've written a book??? 88|
Do tell...
I just can't get my head into the right place. too much other crap :(
I can write one word after the other all right, just not the right ones :(

Oh, well, yes...
Boring stuff to be sure. A treatise on the academic library in the modern electronic age... trust me, you don't want to read it! :))

I've also written about my Navy days, but those stories are also of limited interest.

The thing about writing it to be disciplined. When the inspirational bug bites, sit down and be productive! :)

'Inspirational bug'???
Haven't felt it in months :(
and there's always too much else that needs doing
If I'm being productive, it has to be directed at trying to catch up with paid work.

See now that's the wrong attitude... work (personal or professional) has to go out the window. ;D

If only it were that simple :(

Yes... that only seems to work for the minority doesn't it?

Or those who can afford to retire early
I see you're back to early rising! :)

Ah, well, I worked hard for that. ;)

Yes seems the bed bugs were biting hard last night.

Yes, I'm sure you did, and I bet it's richly deserved
Just I seem to have lived my life the wrong way round. shouldn't really be trying to get a career started at my age :(
Oh well, time for breakfast.
:bye:
That should be:

I'm sure things will work out.

Breakfast... yes, that's a good idea!

Sorry to heart about the job. :(

Did they give any reasons?

Just that there was another candidate who matched their requirements exactly :(
